The result is an MVP that starts simple, but is built on an architecture that scales to advanced team-wide dashboards, predictive insights, and cross-sport expansion. By focusing on team context as much as individual stats, Statcut delivers clarity, not noise, and lays the foundation for smarter training, scouting, and competition.
In a sports landscape filled with generic fitness trackers and siloed performance apps, Statcut set out to build a platform designed specifically for the realities of team sports. The challenge was to create a tool that could capture the complexity of live gameplay while staying lightweight, intuitive, and accessible to athletes at every level.

The Challenge

Traditional sports performance tools presented significant barriers to everyday use, with most athletes relying on manual stat-keeping or limited fitness apps that fail to capture game context. Data often lived in silos — heart rate on one device, video on another — leaving players and coaches to connect the dots themselves.

Video analysis platforms, while powerful, typically demanded specialist knowledge, hours of manual tagging, and expensive hardware, putting them out of reach for youth athletes and smaller programs. The result was fragmented, inaccessible insights that rarely translated into actionable improvements.

We developed an AI-driven shot and play tracking system that eliminates the need for manual stat-keeping, giving athletes instant accuracy without the burden of data entry. The lightweight tagging interface balances automation with user control, making it accessible to both beginners and advanced players.
